Apple Reveals 2026 Design Award Finalists Ahead of WWDC Keynote
Cupertino, CA — Apple today released the full list of more than 30 app and game finalists for the 2026 Apple Design Awards, coinciding with press invitations for the WWDC 2026 keynote scheduled for June 8.
The finalists span categories like Inclusivity, Delight and Fun, Interaction, Social Impact, Visuals and Graphics, and Innovation. Winners will be announced during WWDC week.
“Each finalist demonstrates exceptional design, creativity, and technical excellence,” said Apple spokesperson Karen Lee. “These apps push the boundaries of what’s possible on Apple platforms.”
Background
The Apple Design Awards have recognized outstanding app design since 1997. Awards are given annually to developers who exemplify Apple’s design principles: clarity, deference, and depth.

Previous winners include Procreate, CARROT Weather, and Monument Valley. The awards are closely watched for signaling design trends on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS.

What This Means
Industry observers say the finalists highlight Apple’s growing emphasis on spatial computing, accessibility, and sustainability. Scroll down for the full list of finalists.
“Design awards often foreshadow which apps will be featured during the keynote,” said mobile analyst Rachel Torres of TechInsights. “Developers competing for visibility should study these finalists closely.”
With WWDC 2026 set to introduce the next major OS updates, the Design Awards serve as a benchmark for what Apple values in third-party software.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates on the full list of finalists.
